The Chantecaille family have been wine merchants since 1840 and owned cellars in rue de Turenne in Bordeaux. The trading house produced and distributed branded wines, from small châteaux to ‘grands crus classés’. It has also created its own brand, a range that covered all appellations in order to meet all its customers’ expectations.

Very early on, Chantecaille signed distribution agreements with the Bichot family in Beaune, Côtes d’Or, which led to it coming under the Burgundy wine company’s control in 1950. It developed special partnerships with wine estates and was thus able to select its wines with care and achieve higher quality. Then, in 1986, Chantecaille came under the control of Maison de Luze. It joined the Grands Vins de Gironde group in 1991, but remained a highly active sales firm focusing on the export market, the wholesale trade and collective and commercial catering. |
