Since the early 20th Century, Château Crecy has been a family business belonging to owners in the commune of Romagné. They worked with Grands Vins de Gironde for many years. In 2006, the château was bought by the Servignat family, winegrowers from Banyuls, in Catalonia. Bruno Servignat and his son look after the vineyards and Martine Servignat takes care of the cellar and vinification. The vineyards are in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers region, covering 17 adjoining hectares of clay-and-limestone and clay-and-silica soils planted with Merlot (64%), Cabernet Sauvignon (24%) and Cabernet Franc (12%). The vines are grown in the traditional way, parcel by parcel, which means that the grapes can be vinified by parcel during the harvest and the typicity of each parcel can be taken into account during the blending process to give the Château Crecy wine its special character. The Cabernet is harvested as late as possible to achieve maximum maturity. The temperature-controlled pre-fermentation maceration lasts for two to three weeks. The wine is then bottled in the Grands Vins de Gironde cellars.

Château Crecy Bordeaux red is an intense ruby colour and releases spicy, liquorice, cocoa and dark berry aromas. The robust tannins reveal spicy flavours. The wine has good laying-down potential.
