Situated on the edge of the Entre-Deux-Mers region, Château Segonzac La Forêt is a family-run wine estate. The grandparents of Jeanine Segonzac, the current owner, settled there in the 1940s, when the château had 7 ha of vineyards. Their son took over at the end of the Second World War and Jeanine Segonzac took over from him in 1988. She looks after the vineyards and the cellar. She has worked with Grands Vins de Gironde for many years. The vineyards cover 23.80 ha of “boulbènes” and clay soils, and are planted with 32% white grapes and 68% red. Château Segonzac produces Bordeaux red, Bordeaux rosé and Entre-Deux-Mers. The grapes are harvested when they have reached maturity. Vinification is traditional and the wine is matured in vats, which have a capacity of 2610 hl. It is then bottled at the château.

Château Segonzac La Forêt Bordeaux red is distinctive for its lovely brilliant purplish red colour with brick-red tints. Fruity and pleasant on the nose, it releases spicy, cinnamon and coffee aromas. Clean-tasting, with firm tannins supporting a smooth, hearty substance. The delightful spice and coffee finish helps to give a pleasant sensation of balance. Enjoy it with red or white meat or with a cheese board. Château Segonzac La Forêt Bordeaux rosé is characterised by its cherry colour. The intense, fine nose reveals berry aromas. It should be drunk chilled and may be enjoyed at any time, especially with summer food and exotic dishes. Château Segonzac La Forêt Entre-Deux-Mers is a lively white wine with powerful citrus fruit and white peach aromas.
